June 21, 2012 / Day 3 (Part 1): Shanghai Morning, starring Jackie Chan & Owen Wilson... get it?
9:00AM: Today, we woke up in China. Really. And the weather is amazing! We are being picked up this afternoon from our hotel to go to Jiaxing, but for now, we've got the morning to explore Shanghai. Onward!
We begin with breakfast, which I again failed to capture on film... But it was just buns and stuff. Vince is holding some in the bag in his hand. See it? The end. Apparently, the tarts were very good though.
Moving on to our first destination of the day: The Shanghai Museum. According to Dr. Xinda Lian (that's my dad), Chair of the Department of Modern Languages & Professor of East Asian Literature and Philosophy at Denison University and Chief Examiner of the Chinese A (Literature) of the International Baccalaureate yada yada yada (are we convinced he's an expert yet?), it's one of the best in China and has a gorgeous collection of artifacts. This better be awesome, Dad. Let's have a look.
I didn't take these, but I thought there were better angles of the museum.
We only had 30 minutes to run through the museum before we had to hurry back to the hotel to check out and go to lunch. As a result, I didn't get many pictures and I missed an entire floor altogether. If you want to see more, here's the Shanghai Museum's official site.
I guess the museum isn't for everyone...
